Who are we?

We are a youth sports girls basketball club incorporated as a nonprofit youth organization with the IRS and the Attorney General's Office in the State of NH. The club is a member of the Amatuer Athletic Union of the U.S.A. Inc. (AAU).

Mission Statement

To provide young women an opportunity to master basketball skills and advance to the highest level of play that their natural ability and desire will allow. We will retain the most competent coaches and play the highest level of competition available. Maximization of playing and practice time will enhance proficiency, self confidence, self discipline, respect, time management and enjoyment of the sport. We will endeavor to keep the cost of participation affordable.

Our Coaches

10U (Co-coach)/15U - Steve Signor

Coach Signor returns to the Rockettes for his second season as co-coach of the 10U squad and head coach of the 15U team. Steve is a teacher at Central High School in Manchester where he coaches the Girls Freshman Basketball team. In addition, Steve is a Track and Field coach at Memorial High School in Manchester. Steve has extensive experience as an athletic trainer and devises year round conditioning programs for many of the area's top high school athletes. Steve, his wife Shannon, and 2 children reside in Manchester, NH.

10U - Bob Field (Co-coach)

Coach Field returns in 2010 as the Co Head Coach of our 10U team. Bob was an assistant coach on last year's 10U squad and looks forward to working with Coach Signor to develop the skills of our young ladies. Bob is a Fire Training Instructor with the Manchester Fire Department and resides in Manchester with his wife Michelle and 2 daughters.

11U White - Matt Olsen

Coach Olsen returns for his second year as a Rockettes head coach with this year's 11U team. Matt is a lifelong New Hampshire resident, who played on several very successful Alvirne High School Boys teams and  possesses 15 years of coaching experience at school, travel, and AAU levels. Matt has earned both Bachelor and Master's degrees in Education and brings a strong focus on teaching fundamental skills development to his teams. Matt is a school principal in the Derry, NH school system and resides in Auburn with his wife Diane and 2 children.

11U Purple - Mark Sherburne

Coach Sherburne brings over 10 years of coaching experience in soccer,basketball and hockey at the travel and high school levels to this year's 11U team. This will be his first year as a coach in the Rockettes organization. Mark has two daughters, Jamie and Sara who have been part of the Rockettes organization for over 5 years. Jamie, an 8th grader, plays for Amandra Purcell on the 13U and Sara will be playing on the 11U team. Mark resides in Hudson with his wife Patty.

12U - Jamie Cote

Coach Cote enters his 3rd year with the Rockettes as head coach of our 12U team. A NH native, Jamie played at Trinity High School of Manchester and brings 8 years of coaching experience at travel, middle school, and AAU levels. Jamie is currently the head coach of the Auburn Middle School Girls basketball squad and has compiled a record of 42-0 with 2 Class 'S' and 1 Class 'M' title over the last 3 seasons. Jamie brings a love and respect of the game to his teams and resides in Auburn with his wife Angela and 2 daughters.

13U White - Amandra Purcell

A lifelong NH resident and former standout player at Alvirne High School, Coach Purcell begins her 3rd year as a Rockettes head coach with the 13U team. Amandra earned numerous local, regional, and state awards during her 4 year varsity high school career and played at the national level with both the Rockettes and Crusader AAU organizations. Her Rockettes coaching career has seen her teams compete and succeed at a very high level in state, regional and national competitions. Currently a sophomore guard on the Rivier College Lady Raiders basketball team, Amandra resides in Hudson with her parents and 2 sisters.

13U Purple - George Roy

A Virginia native, Coach Roy is a US Army veteran and graduated from Keene State College with a BS in Sociology. As a player, George earned numerous accolades including High School All-American, All-Army 2nd team, and collegiate All Conference and MVP awards. Coach Roy has 20 years of experience as a coach at numerous levels including girls basketball with the Granite State Rockettes and Hooksett Middle School, boys coach at Southside and Cawley Middle Schools, high school varsity at Souhegan High School, and Women's Head Coach at Hesser College. George is an 18 year certified IAABO Basketball and Football official and resides in Manchester with his wife Ellen. Coach Roy has 2 grown daughters who he raised through the basketball ranks and when not on an athletic field or court, spends his time spoiling 5 grandchildren.

14U - Scott Purcell

Coach Purcell brings over 15 years of coaching experience at travel, high school, and AAU levels to this year's 14U team. Entering his 5th year as a Rockettes head coach, Scott's teams have consistently competed at state, regional, and national levels and have earned AAU State Championship honors as well as top 16 honors at AAU national events. Scott possesses a unique ability to maximize each individual player's potential within the framework of successful team play. Scott is a certified IAABO Basketball official and resides in Hudson with his wife Cassie and 3 daughters.

16U Coaches - Mike McGown and Sue Thomas

Coach McGown enters his 5th year as a head coach at the AAU level including a stint with the Rockettes as Assistant Coach and a founding member of the Vipers AAU organization. Mike offers open clinics for Southern NH youth clubs specializing in fundamental skills and lives in Bedford, NH with his wife Laura and 3 daughters. Coach Thomas played at Niagara University, has coached at U of Detroit, and currently serves as a varsity assistant at Bedford, NH High School. Sue and her husband reside in Bedford, NH with their 3 children.

Director - Don Fernandes

Coach Fernandes is entering his 8th year with the Rockettes and possesses 20+ years of coaching experience at the travel, high school, and AAU levels. Don has coached various age groups within the Rockettes organization and currently focuses on overall administration, organization, and coaching recruitment for the club. Don is a certified IAABO Basketball official and resides in Hudson with his wife Beth and 2 children.
